 Welcome to CHAZ

We are delighted to share with you what The Christian  Health Association of Zambia, an indigenous NGO in Zambia, is doing to save lives and improve health and livelihoods of our communities found mostly in rural parts of our country.

Our ambition is to complement Government effort of providing quality health services to the Zambian people. We mostly serve communities in rural and remote areas who otherwise would not be getting any health services at all or will have to travel very long distances to access them.

The Association has a membership of 146 mission health facilities and FBOs spread right across the nine provinces of Zambia and in 56 of the 72 districts.

In addition to routine health services delivered at our facilities, the Association provides interventions against diseases of a public health priority in Zambia including: HIV and AIDS prevention, treatment and care; Malaria; and Tuberculosis. We also providing innovative approaches such as performance based financing, capacity building services and warehousing.

CHAZ is delivering essential and life-saving medicines and is repairing equipment and in some cases replacing archaic health infrastructure in the health facilities. The various links on this page will show you in greater detail the picture of what CHAZ is doing.

With support from various partners, CHAZ has: built resilience against HIV and AIDS; mobilized the faith fraternity in Zambia to positively respond to the onslaught of diseases, is strengthening the capacities of health workers and community actors to respond effectively; procurement of ARVs for our members and Coartem for the treatment of Malaria to 22 Districts on behalf of MoH.

While there has been support from various partners, the needs on the ground by far outstrip the available resources and there is only so much we can do

Our firm belief is that with your help, and in whatever form it comes, together we can improve the health status of our rural communities and make their lives better.
